Hi, my name is Tom Norton. I have been in the tax and accounting world since 1985. I graduated from college and passed the CPA exam in 1986, becoming licensed in 1988, after getting two years experience in public accounting. In the ensuing years, I have held a number of positions in public accounting, industry, healthcare, and financial services. All along, I have been doing tax returns, either full-time or part-time.

In 2017, I decided to become an Enrolled Agent, in order to avoid some of the issues of practicing across state lines that come with being a CPA. I took and passed the EA exam, solely by studying a book. Of course, it helped that I was already a CPA and had decades of tax experience!

Throughout my career, I have also been a public speaker and a "teacher." Not in the traditional sense of teaching in a school, but in business settings and at meetings. When I began to notice the number of people interested in learning to prepare tax returns and become an Enrolled Agent, I looked around and saw how expensive the EA exam prep courses were. Knowing that many people at the beginning of their careers cannot afford hundreds of dollars to take a course, I set out to create an affordable course of my own. In November of 2024, I launched that course on YouTube. I decided to make the entire course free, and was greeted by hundreds of grateful students. I updated the course for 2025, and now the hundreds have become thousands.

My viewers soon started asking where they could find practice questions and take practice exams. Finding no high quality, reasonably priced solutions, I decided to create my own. While it is not free (there are a lot of expenses on my end to make it all work, not to mention the ongoing time commitment), I believe it is the most reasonably priced solution out there, especially considering all you get.
